WHY SOLID WOOD, VENEER AND MDF?

At Whitman Innovations we work with a range of quality materials — each selected for its specific purpose and design outcome.

SOLID PINE — warm, characterful and accessible. Our pine pieces feature an oak wash finish that deepens beautifully over time. Knots and grain variation are part of the character — not defects.

SOLID ASH WOOD — our most popular material. Ash is a strong, flexible hardwood with a tight grain and naturally pale colour. It takes a finish beautifully and is exceptionally durable for pieces that see daily use like dining tables.

SOLID OAK — the benchmark of quality solid wood furniture. Dense, durable and deeply grained — our solid oak dining tables are built to last a lifetime and beyond.

OAK VENEER — selected pieces feature oak veneer body panels combined with solid oak doors and structural components. This combination delivers the warmth and beauty of oak at a more accessible price point without compromising on quality or appearance.

MDF PAINTED FINISHES — some pieces in our collection feature MDF components finished in durable spray paint. MDF allows for crisp, clean painted finishes and is used selectively where a bold colour or smooth painted surface is the design priority.

Every material we use is selected with purpose — to deliver the best result for each specific design.

The Zachary — our original piece. A reclaimed pine dining table with sleek metal legs that started it all. Named after our son, The Zachary has become one of our most loved designs.

The Amelia — a statement dining table featuring a beautiful fluted pedestal base in solid ash wood. Available in Three Quarter, 6 Seater and 8 Seater sizes.

The Zana — a clean Nordic inspired design in solid ash wood. Simple, considered and enduringly versatile.

The Micah — our solid oak dining table. Bold, heavy and built for the long term.

MADE TO ORDER — WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Every Whitman dining table is made to order — which means we don't keep stock. Instead we build each piece specifically for you, to your chosen size, timber species and finish.

DELIVERY ACROSS SOUTH AFRICA

We offer free delivery to selected Cape Town areas including Kuils River, Blackheath, Brackenfell, Bellville, Parow, Durbanville, Somerset West and Strand.

Delivery to nearby Western Cape areas including Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek is available at a flat rate. Nationwide delivery is available across South Africa — contact us for a quote.
