Our Process

Every piece of Whitman furniture follows the same journey — from the moment you choose your piece to the day it arrives in your home.

STEP 01 — YOU CHOOSE

Browse the collection and select your piece, your material and your finish. Every item on the site has pricing by material tier — Pine & Oak Wash, Ash Wood, or Solid Oak. If you need a custom size, a different finish, or something that isn't in the catalogue, contact us and we'll discuss what's possible.

STEP 02 — YOU ORDER & PAY

Once you place your order and full payment is received, we confirm your order in writing. You'll receive confirmation of your piece, your specifications, your production timeline and your estimated delivery date. Everything in writing — nothing verbal.

STEP 03 — WE BUILD

Your piece enters production. Working from solid wood — selected for grain, colour consistency and structural integrity — our makers cut, join, sand and finish every component by hand. The process takes 4–6 weeks for standard pieces. Custom commissions may take longer depending on complexity.

STEP 04 — QUALITY CHECK

Before your piece leaves our workshop, it goes through a final quality inspection. We check every joint, every surface, every finish detail. Only when we're satisfied does your piece get packaged for delivery.

STEP 05 — DELIVERED TO YOU

Your piece is carefully packaged and delivered to your door. We offer free delivery to selected Cape Town areas, R1200 flat rate to nearby Western Cape, and quoted delivery nationwide. Collection is available from our Blackheath workshop. You will be notified as soon as your order is in transit.
